Bryan Blomquist

Bryan graduated Plainedge HS in 1967. He Enlisted in U.S. Army in 1970 where he served a tour in Vietnam as a Vietnamese Interpreter - Hanoi dialect - with the Army Security Agency in both Camp Eagle and Phu Bai.

Bryan was appointed to Lynbrook, NY Police Dept July of 1974, promoted to Sgt in 1984, Lieutenant in 1989, and retired in August of 2011.

Bryan received a Bachelor's Degree cum laude from NYIT Westbury in 1992 and a Master's Degree magna cum laude from John Jay College in 1995. With current board of officer's, Bryan took over as president of Long Island Sled Hockey, Inc. in the winter of 2003. Bryan currently serves as the Disabled Hockey Representative for the Eastern Section of the NY State Amateur Hockey Association.

Bryan's thoughts on his involvement in the LISH program, "These athletes never cease to amaze everyone with whom they come in contact.  They are very, very special and I am proud to be a part of what they do."

Frank Martin

Frank Martin serves as equipment manager for the LISH team as well as performing his duties as Vice President. Frank has lived in Lindenhurst for over 30 years.

  Anthony Ficarrotta

Anthony is the proud father of two children; Vincent who a 19 year old on the LIRR team and Jeena a 22 year old secondary mathematics teacher.

Anthony has worked in Manhattan in the financial district since 1986. Anthony has been a board member with The Long Island RoughRiders since 2009.

Treasurer

 Mitchell Mertz

Mitchell of Massapequa NY is married to Elissa, and has 2 sons. Mitchell has been a  Certified Public Accountant for over 35 years specializing in auditing, SEC and financial reporting, His younger son is one of Long Island Sled hockey's goalies.

Mitchell has been involved with  Long Island Sled Hockey since its inception as treasurer.

"This is a fantastic program not only for the athletes but for their families as well. We will NEVER say no to anyone who wants to play and no matter what the person's challenge is, we will find a way. It is amazing to watch the games and what it does for the players. This program requires a lot of time, effort and money. We are lucky to have a president that can get money out of rock. We can always use more help."
